On 27th July at 6pm, as part of the Inverness Book Festival, the Lecture will be given by Mark Stephen, the most prolific features presenter on Radio Scotland. Mark is the hugely popular presenter of the long-running Saturday morning programme Out of Doors, also the history series Past Lives, and the one-to-one conversational Turning Point.

His keen interest in the Scottish countryside, its geology and wildlife, also extends to literature and poetry. In 2011 this was reflected in two special programmes featuring the landscape and writings of Sorley Maclean and Norman MacCaig, which he explored in Raasay, Skye and Sutherland in the company of contemporary writers Angus Peter Campbell and Andrew Greig.

Normally MarkÕs role is to ask the questions and persuade other people to do the talking. This time round the Neil Gunn Trust have succeeded in persuading Mark to do the talking. The theme he has chosen is ÔBelonging to this PlaceÕ.

The Lecture will take place in Inverness, in Eden CourtÕs One Touch Theatre.
